The Special Operations Unit (S.O.U.) is a proactive arm of the Investigations Division tasked primarily with narcotics enforcement.

While narcotics enforcement is the Unit’s primary function, the Unit is adept at investigating gang activity, illegal gambling, prostitution and other non-conventional illegal activities. The detectives in the Unit perform these duties by acting in an undercover activity, through the use of informants, surveillance and by overt, specialized patrol tactics.
