


Overview
The Division consists of one Lieutenant, two Sergeants and thirty-three Deputies, assigned to Court facilities in six locations throughout Kane County: The Judicial and Juvenile Justice Centers, located in St. Charles; The Geneva Courthouse; Branch Courts in Aurora, Elgin and Carpentersville. The headquarters are located in the Judicial Center in St. Charles.
Responsibilities of the Court Security Division:
- Provide a safe and orderly environment to the facilities and grounds of the 16th Judicial Circuit in Kane County
- Protect the integrity of the Court
- Maintain the decorum of the Court
- Deter those who would take disruptive or violent action against the Court and/or its participants
Statistics & Projects
- In 2004, Court Security Deputies screened more than 780,000 Court attendees
- More than 750 persons were taken into custody in Courtrooms
- Court Security Deputies arrested 120 persons on outstanding warrants
- Calls for service (escorts, medical emergencies, alarms, etc.) totaled more than 200 for 2004
- A new, state-of-the-art Digital Video Recording system was installed
- Conversion to an all-color video system was begun
- Upgrading of several control systems has begun and will be on-going.
