In January 2010 the Illinois Attorney General‘s Office made several changes to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). In an effort to comply with these changes Sheriff Perez has added the FOIA section the Office web site.
There are several ways that you can submit a FOIA Request to the Kane County Sheriff’ Office. Fill in and print out the FOIA Request Form, then choose one of the following methods to submit it:

Bring it to the Sheriff’s Office front desk between the hours of 8am and 4pm, Monday through Friday.
What response will I get?
A FOIA Officer will evaluate your request and will submit a response within 5 business days of the request. Should your request be denied for any reason the response will cite the specific reason for the denial and provide you details on how to appeal your denial.
