Transition Team
Accompanying the construction of the new county jail is a new philosophy on how best to manage inmate behavior within the facility. The Kane County Adult Justice Center has met this challenge by adopting the principles of Direct Supervision. In a Direct Supervision setting, the Officers will play a prominent role in the day to day activities of the inmates. Rather than being separated by walls and bars, as in the current facility, the Officers will be inside the housing units interacting with the inmates. One responsibility of the Transition Team is to determine how best to classify the inmate population to ensure that the appropriate inmates are housed together in order to create the safest environment possible for both staff and those incarcerated.
